Schedule and Rules for managing the Nexcess Golf League

Dues

$5 a week for a maximum of 15 weeks

Awards

First Place: 65% of Dues

Second Place: 25% of Dues

Third Place: 10% of Dues

$5 per week (minimum 15 weeks)

Objective:

To score more points over the season than anyone else.

Scoring Points

Points are awarded for the following

Definitions

Best Actual Round of the Year
Best round is calculated on 9 holes without handicap, based on Par for the 9 holes playes. All players who tied are awarded the full number of points.
Best Round of the day
Best Round is calculated on 9 holes using the golfers computed handicap for that week. A handicap is not required to win points for a given day. All players who tied are awarded the full number of points.
Birdie or Better
Points are awarded for each actual birdie or better not including handicap
Closest to the Pin
For points to be awarded players first shot on a par 3 must be on the green and closer than all other players. Balls touching the fringe are counting as being on the green. Balls on the fringe are not counted as being on the green.
Handicap
Calculation based on the United States Golf Association:
Entry = ('Your Score' - 'Par') x (113 / 'Course Slope Rating')
A minimum number of 5 rounds is required to establish handicap* (Although modified for this micro league)
After the first round, the following table is what is used to determine which rounds will be used to calculate handicap (the first 3 tiers are slightly modified to accomodate players with no established handicap):

Most Improved handicap from week 4
Points are awarded at the end of the year for the most improved handicap on the last outing of the year from week 4.
Par
Points are awarded for each actual par not including handicap
Season
12 completed 9-hole rounds. Any number of rounds can be completed, but only the top 12 rounds will count. Season begins May 19 and ends September 15.
